Frequently Asked Questions
Team-related FAQ's
- Club Makeup
The BC Cycling Club consists of Road Cycling as well as Mountain Biking. We are also made up of members who just wish to train, and those who wish to race. We offer some great opportunities for everyone who enjoys the sport of cycling.
- Beginners
You do not need experience in order to join the team. However, you do need to provide your own bike.
- Practices
There are always team-led weekend rides (typically at 10am leaving from Lower Dining
on Saturday and Sunday - specific details are announced weekly). Additionally, the team has access to the spin room at the Plex for when the weather gets cold during the week. Other rides are announced
via list-serv.
- Dues
The dues are designed to help make the club able to run effectively throughout the season. This includes covering costs that we would otherwise be unable to do. We have set 2 different levels of dues, racing and non-racing. The dues will need to be paid prior to you receiving any discounts or ordering of any jerseys.
- Perks
By paying dues, you are entitled to a bunch of great perks with the club, including uniform and clothing discounts, access to the spin room for club sponsored spin classes, team training programs, and discounts with
team sponsors.
- Club Finances
In addition to dues, the club sells concessions at BC sporting events to cover the costs of van, hotels and other traveling costs for racing. Members are expected to contribute by volunteering for a few games in the fall.
- Kits (Uniforms)
Our new kit design won 'Best Kit' in 2008, voted by the members of the ECCC. Check out our kit here.
